  • Seussabration Coming Soon!

    KES will celebrate Dr.Seuss and the love of reading the week of February 26-March 1. Fun classroom activities will be planned throughout the week, and students may participate in the following dress up days:

    Mon.,Feb.26--Fox in Sox: Wear Crazy Socks!

    Tues.,Feb.27--The Lorax: Wear a Mustache!

    Wed.,Feb.28--Wacky Wednesday: Wear your clothes inside out and/or backwards!

    Thurs.,Feb.29--Thing 1 and 2 from Cat in the Hat: Wear a crazy hat or crazy hair!

    Fri.,March 1--Seussabration: Dress up as your favorite Dr. Seuss book character!

  • 202 Bluebonnet Voters!!

    202 students met the requirements for the 2019Texas Bluebonnet Award Voting! Way to Go Students! Our voters earned a T-shirt and will attend a voting party on January 30 at which they will submit their vote for the book they think should win the Texas Bluebonnet Award this year. The winning book will be announced by the TBA Committee in Austin, Texas, sometime in February, and we will post that winner here! You may see more information about the Bluebonnet Award Reading Program on this web page.

  • Bluebonnet Award ProgramBluebonnet Award Program

    All 3rd through 6th grade students have the opportunity to participate in the Texas Bluebonnet Award voting that takes place at the end of January each year. Students must read and pass the AR quiz on at least 5 of the 20 nominee books in order to cast a vote. Voters will be rewarded with a party, T-shirt, and recognition on Awards Day in May.
