Kirbyville has received some signal boosters from T-Mobile. These boosters will improve the Signal inside the home to equal the signal received outside the home. For example, if you are receiving 1 bar of signal inside your home, but outside in the yard you receive 3 bars of signal, the booster will pull that 3 bars of signal into your home.
Please know that we do not have boosters for every student and we are limiting them to 1 per household as needed. If you have students at both the Jr. High and High School campuses, please only have your High School student go to the library and request a booster.
If you need a booster for your home, please have your Jr. High or High School student go to the library and request a booster for your home.
T-Mobile Signal Update:
We received an update from T-Mobile this week on the tower signal upgrades. They are currently a little behind schedule in getting the new L600 and L700 frequencies on the towers. We are being told that we may not see these come online until sometime in November and December.
The good news is twofold once they do come online: First, the south tower will be receiving the L600 and the Northern Tower will receive both the L600 & the L700 frequencies. Our T-Mobile representative tells me this will drastically expand the coverage in our area for all users. Second, they are building a new tower in the Bleakwood area that will also expand the coverage in our area.
As you can see in the map below, currently the dark pink areas are where you will receive the best reception for T-Mobile. Light Pink is OK signal and the white areas are non-existent. I am being told that once these upgrades come online and the Bleakwood tower is up and running, we should not only see the gap between the towers close, but the Magnolia Springs area should also be reached by the towers nearby. We will keep you updated as we receive information from T-Mobile.
